About STAG & MANOR

STAG & MANOR is a San Francisco-based modern home furnishings and decor shop with a global perspective and a humanitarian spirit. We source unique minimalist crafts and arts from all around the world as well as from the local community, and are persistently in search of artisans advancing the definitions of modern design while reinterpreting heritage materials and techniques. We aim to narrow the gap between these artisans and modern connoisseurs.

::: spirited modern design ::: refers to the layering of cultural traditions and beautiful raw materials with refined, minimalist forms and colors, bringing warmth and soul to minimalist design pieces. Integrating items from our SPIRITED collections into more prominent MINIMALIST selections creates greater balance in any decor and demonstrates the broader language of our world as a whole.

Our product offerings are decidedly stewarded for patrons with keen senses of modern trends, while our global supplier partnerships are built on the hope of contributing wealth opportunity to developing communities around the world as well as here in the Bay Area. As our business grows, so will our philanthropy.

Besides sourcing products from independent craftspeople and artists around the world which is a direct effort to infuse economic growth in those individuals’ communities, STAG & MANOR donates a percentage of customer purchases to a variety of charitable organizations.

Our current recipients of those donations are:

You may have gathered from a few of our donation recipients that STAG & MANOR has a soft spot for the care and well being of animals. In addition to supporting the organizations above, we strive to minimize product materials derived from animals in our collection. You'll find little to no leather in our catalog. Instead, we favor plant-based and synthetic alternatives as much as possible.

You'll also find very little down feathers in our overall collection. The majority of our pillows are fluffed by a recycled plastic fiber fill made from recycled plastic bottles.

We're certainly not telling anyone how to live, but we've made the choice to minimize our contribution to the mistreatment of animals through our sourcing. We hope to source more and more products that further reduce any animal based materials in our catalog, so keep your eye out for fun, stylish, and new plant-based, cruelty-free modern decor and furnishing pieces ahead.

The STAG is commonly known as the protector of all other creatures within the forest. For the native tribes of North America, the stag Is a totem representing sensitivity, intuition and gentleness; while in some Eastern traditions, the stag symbolizes harmony, happiness, peace and longevity.

The MANOR is the elevation and reverence of our most beloved space—our home, where we begin each new day, nurture ourselves and our loved ones, host our friends and family, and shelter from the world in a space we’ve created for ourselves

Together, STAG & MANOR references the family crest of owner, Seth's maternal great-grandmother who independently immigrated to the United States from the western shores of Ireland at the end of the nineteenth century. Cecelia represents the strength, bravery, and ingenuity of all immigrants worldwide striving for a better life for their families, as well as, the compassion and stamina of Irish mothers everywhere, standing as the bedrock for their future generations. The name STAG & MANOR is a tribute to Cecelia.
